Ideally situated for panoramic sandy beaches, high quality restaurants, pubs and cafés - plus walking dogs, hiking, and bird watching...

Choose between Knyvetts (sleeps 6) or Fayette (sleeps 4), a pair of pretty cottages in North Creake, a picturesque village lying just south of Burnham Market close to the north Norfolk coast. It has a really friendly and cracking pub run by Chris and Helen (2 minutes walk). Until the 1980's the cottages were owned by Earl Spencer's Althorpe Estate, along with the neighbouring cottages.  Designated as historically important non-listed buildings by Historical England, Knyvetts and Fayette are also within an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Conservation Area. There is superb bird watching available - and a beautiful, peaceful place to visit in low season for this pursuit.

Just to the north of the village is Creake Abbey, well worth a visit to the ruins of an Augustinian abbey founded in 1206, and also home to some fantastic shops and studios plus an award-winning farmers’ market, and brilliant cafe and deli.

Burnham Market, Holkham beach and Wells-Next-the-Sea are on your doorstep

Neighbouring Burnham Market was the childhood home to the great Admiral Horatio Nelson, his father being the vicar for the Burnhams' churches. It offers a charming and eclectic range of independent shops, including an excellent fish monger (Gurney's), butcher, delicatessen, wine merchant, post office and several coffee shops. With the Hoste Arms and other well established hotels and restaurants sitting comfortably alongside exciting new venues such as Michelin starred Socius and stylish No. Twenty9, this a lovely village with something for everyone.

Wells-next-the-sea is a 10-minute drive away and offers all the amenities you'd want from a quintessential seaside village. From beautiful beach hut-lined beaches to multiple independent eateries and fabulous boutiques, you can't go wrong spending the day here.  Time to enjoy the excellent fish and chips!

There are numerous other high quality beaches including Brancaster and Thornham within a few minutes' reach.

The Royal palace of Sandringham, where Queen Elizabeth II and children famously preferred to spend their Christmases, is a 20-25 minute drive, including William & Kate's Anmer Hall on the estate.  Well worth a visit, and lovely walk in the grounds and surrounding woods.

Younger guests will enjoy exploring the many playground, ice cream shops and arcades dotted around the area. There are also a number of attractions to keep them amused, whatever the weather.

This is a truly relaxing place to pause, and breathe

We have been coming to this area for more than 15 years, and finally decided to buy a holiday let, in the hope that others may enjoy it as much as we do.

The north Norfolk Heritage coastline is 4 miles away, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This is a truly beautiful part of the world offering many ways of wiling away leisure hours including sailing, bird and seal watching, golf, cycling, walking and fine sandy beaches.

It's best to explore the area using a car. The properties have off street parking for 4 and 2 cars accordingly. You can also park in the village.
